American Cocker Spaniels can easily live in an apartment, a large house or even in a garden or yard, they are very hardy dogs but need special attention and proper cleaning of their ears and eyes. They generally enjoy exercise and play.

As they are easily trained, they are good for sporting activities and also for therapy work. The size of the American Cocker Spaniel makes it easy to take the dog with you on trips and holidays. Finally, they need regular grooming, which is best started at an early age.
